Session 15 Testimonies of beneficiaries Lesson plan

OVERVIEW: This session shows how the gardens can help individuals or communities and emphasizes that it is up to each garden owner to get started.

PURPOSE: To motivate the student to start a garden.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Know how a garden can help your family.
  2. Understand that the garden takes effort and requires dedication
  3. Know that effort can help.

RESOURCES/MATERIALS: In the practical the students design their own gardens and then estimate costs to build and operate it and estimate the daily return. They complete a mini business plan.

ACTIVITIES AND PROCEDURES:

  1. Present the slides for garden ownership
  2. Take time for questions from the students or comments
  3. Do a practical with the students doing the final design for their garden complete with expenses and business plan
  4. Meet for a review of the material
